Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:30-31
There is a special kind of tired you feel when you have tried it all. That feeling that no matter what you do, you can’t succeed and when you’re stuck in a rut, you don’t think that it can get any better. The kingdom of Judah was in this sort of place. In 2 Kings 24:11, they were finally conquered by the Babylonians and taken away as slaves. The nation was shocked, their identity stolen, and their treasures carried off to Babylon...the weakest point in the nation’s history and not the most hopeful position to be in! However, Our God is a rescuer and will never leave us. This is what he says to the kingdom of Judah at the end of Isaiah 40:29, “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.” No matter what the reason for your season, you’re not alone! Here are a few tips to navigate through tough moments: 1. Hang on - help is on its way! Don’t lose hope. 2. Don’t exhaust your energy in things that don’t matter like complaining or comparing. 3. Remain grateful. Gratitude will create a road in your heart to worship. 4. Find ways to recharge your soul (work out, read, get some sleep, pick up a hobby again). 5. Trust God’s timing - lean on him no matter what. God is not the enemy. There are seasons where our strength fails us. But don’t let go and watch how God will give you new strength and new energy as he makes a new man within you.
