“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…”
Hebrews 4:12
If you’ve had a stressful week or have challenges or obstacles ahead, here are some verses to keep your faith high and the enemy low. I encourage you to read them out loud. Jesus spoke the Word in the wilderness when combating Satan’s temptations.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
“The earth is the LORD ’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.” Psalms 24:1
“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” Psalm 62:1-2
“I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.” Psalm 3:5-6
“Say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” Isaiah 35:4
“And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” Luke 12:25
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” John 14:1
“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful.” John 14:27
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Phil 1:3-6
“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” Phil 4:6-7
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
